Once governed by legendary Duke Jacob, famous for its incredibly beautiful nature and ready to share interesting testimonies of the past, Courland - one of the historical and cultural regions of Latvia – has a special charm to explore. The seashore attracts with its small ancient Liiv fishermen villages, fish smokeries, clean pristine beaches and many more.

Day 1

• Arrival at the hotel and check-in – Get the map and detailed itinerary of the trip

• Optional: Walking excursion “Legends of the Old Riga” with guide

• Overnight in Riga

Day 2

• Breakfast at the hotel

• Pick up the rented car in Riga

Riga – Engure – Mersrags – Roja – Kolka

• Kaltenes kalvas – large stone ridges formed by Baltic Glacial Lake when it washed out the ice of the last glacier. Stony beach of Kaltene and bird-watching tower. Small fishermen villages. Fresh smoked fish. Walking trail on Purciems's White Dune. Pristine beach of Gipka. Steep Bank of Evazi. Cape Kolka where two seas meet.

Day 3

Kolka – Mazirbe – Ventspils

• Fish smoking in Mazirbe. Slitere National Park – excursion, visiting lighthouse. Irbene radio locator – radio telescope with its historical passages and tunnels to explore and a panoramic view to enjoy from above. Oviši lighthouse. Ventspils – beautiful, recently renewed port town. Ventspils Old Town, the Livonian Order Castle (1290). Bout tour on “Hercogs Jekabs”. Ride on narrow gauge railway “Mazbanitis”.

Day 4

• Breakfast

Ventspils – Uzava – Jurkalne – Pavilosta - Liepaja

• Uzava lighthouse. Uzava Brewery. Steep bank of Jurkalne - one of the most picturesque places on the Baltic Sea coast with a quite strand and an impressive 20 metres high steep bank. Grey Dune of Pavilosta. Liepaja Naval port – touristic site characterized by Russian military elegance and Soviet militarism.

• Overnight in Liepaja

Day 5

• Breakfast

Liepaja – Kalvene - Lozmetejkalns – Riga

• Kalvene Zoo. Sighting tower in Lozmetejkalns – a tower with a panoramic sight over the places where the legendary Christmas Battles took place during the World War I.

• Return the rented car - End of the tour
