Krynica - in search of health and rest
The most reputed of all Polish spas, Krynica is located at the foot of the Beskid Sadecki range. It has a central pedestrian promenade, spa houses, concert niche, and pump rooms with water from over twenty local mineral springs.
Bathers and tourists are attracted here all year round by a great choice of walks and hikes into the scenic hills. Krynica has a nicely equipped winter sports center with Poland's longest cable-car ski lift up to Mt Jaworzyna Krynicka. The latter one has a fine recreation infrastructure and offers a beautiful view over the Beskid and Tatra ranges. The Jan Kiepura Festival of Arias and Songs is held here every year.
Kudowa Zdrój, Polanica Zdrój, Ladek Zdrój - Spas of Lower Silesia
There are twelve spas in the Lower Silesian region. Their mineral water springs attracted bathers already in the 18th century. There were kings, princes, writers and artists among them. Today bathers and tourist also come to the spas seduced by their beneficent climate, scenic landscapes, national parks, sanatoriums and holiday centers, as well as cultural events of all kinds.
Oxalates are present in the majority of local medicinal waters. Kudowa Zdrój, Polanica Zdrój, Duszniki Zdrój, Jelenia Góra-Cieplice Zdrój, Lądek Zdrój and Świeradów-Czerniawa are the major spas of Lower Silesia.
Sopot - seaside resort with the longest wooden pier
Sopot is attractive holiday centre, seaside resort and spa. Many fine villas from the 19th and 20th centuries were built in the Art Nouveau or eclectic style. Sopot's main pedestrian mall is ul. Bohaterow Monte Cassino that leads tourists to Poland's longest pier (512m) and the sandy beach.
The Northern Baths raised in 1907 are a good example of old spa buildings. Sopot is known for its International Song Festival and a great number of sports and cultural events.
Seacoast Landscape Park - seaside resorts on the Hel Peninsula
The park encompasses the Hel Peninsula and the shoreline of the Puck Bay. This region is very popular with tourists, and the most frequented spots are those of Wladyslawo, Chalupy, Kuznica, Jastarnia, Jurata and Hel.
To the church fair in Puck pilgrims arrive through water. Tourists can visit the lighthouse of the Rozewie Cape near Wladyslawowo that houses a small museum dedicated to the lighthouse business.
